Last weekend I spent many hours preparing a bin full of Gamma Phi Beta love for my new lil' sis in my sorority. Last sunday we surprised the new members with their boxes full of gifts after their meeting, and then each day this week, we've anonymously given the girls clues (misleading and not helpful in anyway...) and a little goodies all to lead up to this weekend of "Big Little Reveal"!
The week of suspense, (and for some girls agony, toiling over their future 'family' in the sorority (it can be quite cruel actually)) finally came to an end last night. All the big sisters hid in random nooks of the G-PHI house for little to run and find a girl in a matching jersey. It is so enjoyable to see the excitement and glee of the girls when they are finally united with their Big.
It was a great feeling to see Jennifer (My little! :-D) so surprised, and genuinely delighted to find out that it was me! I love the idea of "Big Sis, Little Sis" because I feel like it creates special bonds and deeper relationships within the sorority. I'm so excited to have Jennifer as my little and I'm eager to know her better and become great friends with her!
