Classic Beauties

Excuse me while I indulge in a moment of Nostalgia...

While watching the stunning actress, María Casares, in the 1950s french film Orphée, in my french class the other day, I was blown away by her utter elegance. Then I began to reflect on actresses today and how in the past 50 years society's perception of beauty has changed so much! Women then had such a pure, refined look, porcelain skin and modesty! I love the old, poised, glamour shots of my Grandma and Great Grandma in which they glance over their shoulder with their hair in perfect bobbed curls and lips painted matte, deep red. They're beautiful.

(...sigh).
