To learn in-depth about other cultures is truly enriching. To reflect upon how I myself can be engrossed at such a deep level in my own country's multi-faceted culture and then think about how there are hundreds of countries on this planet with equally or more intricate customs and evolved histories... it's mind blowing. I enjoy the enlightenment and new perspective that learning a foreign language has given me. Awareness of the diversity of life on earth makes me feel small, and insignificant in my knowledge, and yet puts me in utter awe of God's omnipotence.
